Scotch Fabric Care collected and cleaned a record 3,162 coats in Lawrence and 6,766 in Topeka during the 22nd annual Scotch Share the Warmth program, said Scott Shmalberg, president of Scotch Industries.

“Because of the current economic state, the demand for clean, warm coats is especially great this year, and the Lawrence community responded by donating more coats than ever,” Shmalberg said. “The program would not be possible without the community’s unyielding generosity.”

The cleaned coats are distributed to people in need. Scotch has collected and cleaned more than 182,000 coats since the inception of the campaign 22 years ago.
