Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for Dec. 18, 1908: “Chancellor Frank Strong of the university believes the state is not using its educational funds to best advantage so long as Kansas continues to maintain two schools of engineering and fine arts, one at the university in Lawrence and the other at the agricultural college in Manhattan. In his biennial report to the governor, Strong discusses the joining of the two schools with one board of regents over both.
