The Douglas County Extension Council announced Monday its new officers for 2009.

They are Bob Rhoton, chairman; Mark Rainey, vice chairman; Kristy Wempe, treasurer; and Jennifer Mitchell, secretary. Other board members elected were Rich Barr, Paul Groundwater, Lanaea Heine, Luke Ulrich and Kathy Sanders Wilson.

During its annual meeting last week, Pam Madl received the council’s annual Certificate of Appreciation. Madl is the assistant county administrator.

The council also recognized retiring members, including Judy Billings, David Bunker, Sharla Dressler, Janna Dunbar, Chris Durflinger, Doug Gaston and Andrea Zuercher.
