Assimilation

Once again, Cal Thomas is trying to justify his xenophobia by wrapping it in the American flag. In his opinion piece published in the Dec. 3 Journal-World, Thomas calls for a moratorium on building new mosques and proposes that Muslim immigrants to the United States should be made to assimilate, presumably to Christianity. Perhaps Thomas would like to convert all existing mosques into “assimilation centers” in which immigrants could be taught about American values, such as freedom of religion.
