Salvation Army’s Toy Shop to open today
The Salvation Army’s Toy Shop to support low-income families will be open from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. today and Friday at Building 21 of the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2110 Harper St.
Families who already have qualified will be able to stop by the fairgrounds to select two new toys, a stocking-stuffer item and a voucher for food. Volunteers will be there to assist.
The shop will also be open from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Aaron Smith, the Salvation Army’s community relations director, said the agency hopes to serve 650 children.
The event is in conjunction with Douglas County Toys for Tots.
