Old Home Town – 25 years ago

Figures released by Mike Fisher, academic counselor for Kansas University’s athletic department, showed that KU football and basketball players who reached their senior years were graduating at high rates. Fisher claimed that the grad rates were “as good as or better than” the nonathlete student. However, it appeared that there were a number of glitches in the paths of many athletes who never reached senior status and the rates for them were not so good.
