Fall commencement scheduled for Baker

More than 600 students will graduate as part of Baker University’s fall commencement ceremonies this weekend in Baldwin City.

Graduate students in the School of Professional and Graduate Studies will be recognized at 1 p.m. Saturday at the George F. Collins Sports and Convention Center. Baker alumnus Ethan Whitehill, chief executive officer for Two West Inc., a branding and communication company in Kansas City, Mo., will be the keynote speaker.

The School of Education graduate degree ceremony will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the convention center. Retired Kansas educator Dick Hedges, a 1960 Baker graduate and member of the Kansas Board of Regents, will speak during this ceremony.

The undergraduate ceremony will honor students in the College of Arts and Sciences and schools of education, nursing and professional and graduate studies. It will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the convention center. Baker psychology professor Tony Brown, who is a state representative-elect and recently retired from full-time teaching, will deliver the keynote address.
