Sooners’ Paris adds to NCAA record

Jonesboro, Ark — Courtney Paris’ streak is now at 100 — and there’s no end in sight if she keeps playing like this.

Paris had 24 points and 10 rebounds for her 100th consecutive double-double, and Oklahoma routed Arkansas State Sunday.

Paris scored 19 points in the first half, and the Sooners eventually pulled away for an easy victory.

No. 5 Texas A&M 80, SMU 48

College Station, Texas — Takia Starks scored 21 points to lead Texas A&M, nearly outscoring the Mustangs by herself in the first half with 14 points.

A&M (8-0) outscored SMU, 19-4, in points off turnovers in the first half, with the Mustangs (2-5) committing 14 miscues in that span.

Texas A&M played stellar defense, forcing 26 SMU turnovers.

No. 9 Texas 74, Mississippi 50

Oxford, Miss. — Brittainey Raven scored 16 points to lead the Longhorns (8-0), and Erika Arriaran added 14 points, Ashleigh Fontenette had 13 and Kathleen Nash scored 10.

The Longhorns broke open a 26-26 tie late in the first half on consecutive three-pointers by Arriaran and Yvonne Anderson.

Texas led, 36-29, at halftime and was up, 44-29, on Raven’s jump shot with 16:47 left in the game.
