Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for Dec. 2, 1908: “T.L. McClelland, a new county commissioner, was trying to rope some cattle on his farm and got his foot caught in a rope attached to a husky steer. Ligaments in his leg were torn loose but there was no fracture. … A local minister is advising young people to plan a less expensive honeymoon and put the savings into buying a house. It has high merit.”
