Honolulu ? James and Linda Parker of Kansas have completed a quest to donate blood products in all 50 states.

The couple started their quest four years ago in their home state. They finished by donating blood platelets at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. Full blood donations can be made only every eight weeks, but platelets can be donated more often.

The couple say they want to raise awareness of the shortage of blood donors nationwide.

James Parker says they have traveled close to 120,000 miles and spent more than $33,000 on their effort.
