Our Mothers, Our Daughters
By Katie Lashbrook
We all agreed that
our mothers
had a profound influence on us
when we were young and even now.
We know we didn't
measure up to all of our mothers'
dreams and desires for us, although
we didn't care that much when we were younger,
feeling our unique new selves growing away from them.
Now that we are older, we
understand we didn't always measure up to
our daughters'
expectations either. We wonder where
we went wrong with these important women.
Or, is this an old story about mothers and daughters?

Katie,I agree, it is an old story about mothers and daughters, sisters and brothers, fathers and sons, too.
