Juvenile Court Judge Charles Rankin urged the City Commission to approve the proposed curfew law "as soon as possible." Rankin thought the law would help the community cut a good deal of juvenile crime and vandalism that had been increasing of late. The law required youngsters to be in by 11 p.m. on week nights and 12:30 a.m. on weekends.
