Severe thunderstorm watch canceled
The severe thunderstorm watch Douglas County was under until 11 p.m. Thursday has been canceled.
The watch remains in effect for Anderson, Coffey, Franklin and Osage counties.
The watch, issued by the National Weather Service, is capable of producing large hail and strong winds, said Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.
Schack said a line of storms will be developing into the evening as they approach from the north.
“These storms are associated with a cold front that will be pushing through,” Schack said.
Consequently, temperatures will drop Friday, she said.
