KU volleyball team routs alumni

Kansas University's volleyball team defeated a group of Jayhawk alumni, 3-0, in a preseason scrimmage on Saturday at Horejsi Center.
The collegiate Jayhawks prevailed in the new 25-point set format (25-20, 25-18, 25-23).
Sophomore outside hitter Karina Garlington led all players with 11 kills and six digs. Junior Brittany Williams and freshman Allison Mayfield had nine kills apiece, and senior Natalie Uhart tallied seven kills and also added a team-high four blocks.
Kansas will play its first match next weekend in the Virginia Commonwealth Invitational. The Jayhawks will meet VCU at 6 p.m. on Friday.
