Over the Rainbow Doll Club met Aug. 14 at the home of Jan Dyer. The public is invited to the club’s open meeting from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Lawrence Public Library. Debbie Tracy will present a program on Madame Alexander Dolls. August’s program was an original story, “A Pool Party with Ann Estelle,” by Gail Brewster with doll enactment done by Mikhaila Brown and Mikhenna Brown. Several Robert Tonner dolls were used in the presentation. Each of the club’s dolls received a swimsuit and cover-up to celebrate the pool party theme.

¢ The Knights of Columbus Council 1372 will donate $770 to St. John Catholic School for Bibles. The Bibles will be distributed to children in the sixth grade on Sept. 11 and to the children in Religious Education classes on Sept. 14.

Council 1372 also announces winners of the Knight and Family of the Month for July and August.

Knight of the Month winners: Brian Walter, past Grand Knight, July; and Mark Klug, August.

Family of the Month winners: John Callewaert, July; and Ty Hicklin; August.

¢ P.E.O. Chapter GQ, will have a social with members and their husbands on Aug. 31. There will be a potluck at 6:30 p.m. at Shelter 2 at Clinton Lake and “Stargazing 101” with John Stover. Call Cathy Stover for questions, 841-2913.

¢ University Club Bridge announces results of its Aug. 16 meeting. Hosts were Myrna and Ray Ikenberry.

Blue winners were Paul Jordan, first; Walt Hicks, second; Dale Kring, third; Lois Liebert, fourth; and John Golden, fifth.

Pink winners were Willie Stoltenberg, first; Myrna Ikenberry, second; Mary Gaumer and Virginia Williams, tied in third; and Jane Golden, fifth.

¢ The Wednesday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on Aug. 13 was directed by Chris Lane. The North-South winners were Pat Lechtenberg and Chris Lane, first; Nita Scales and Lester Dalton, second; Wanda Durbin and Julia Brooks, third in A; and Mona Bell and Carol Ball, first in C.

The North-South winners Virginia Seaver and Shirley Reese tied in first with Paul Heitzman and David Piro; Bobby Patton and John Fittell, third in A; and Bobby McCorkle and Angie Davidson, second in B.

¢ The Friday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club’s game on Aug. 15 was directed by Virginia Seaver. The North-South winners were Lois Clark and Betty Collier, first; John Fittell and Kent McCullough, second; Yvonne Hedges and Sally Taylor, third; and Chris Lane and Shirley Reese, fourth.

The East-West winners were David Piro and Paul Heitzman, first; Virginia Seaver and Klee Zaricky, second; Craig Huneke and Jeff Mermin, third in A, and first in B; Judy Hildreth and Carol Ball, fourth in A; and Clarice Broz and Wanna Roszel, second in B.
