KSA Goes 3-1: Kansas Soccer Academy teams posted a 3-1 record in the opening week of the Heartland Soccer League in Olathe. KSA Blaze (U-12 boys) won 5-1 as Garrett Cruce and Brennan Occhipinto scored two goals apiece and Carson Gilliland one. Tanna Franchier scored all three goals in the KSA Gunners’ (U-13 girls) 3-0 win. KSA Orange (HS girls) won 2-0, with Kylee Loneker and Erin Ice scoring. The KSA Enforcers (U-14 girls) bowed 3-2, with Kylie Dever and Sunni Upshaw posting goals.

¢ Roberts Fires 67: Conrad Roberts shot a sizzling 5-under 67 and won the Jayhawk Golf Club weekly tournament Saturday at Alvamar by six strokes over Chad Welter. Bud Stagg was third with a 74. In net scoring, Jason Ward was low with a 67. Jeff Brooks and Pete Whitenight shared second place, each with a 71.

¢ Night Golf: Orchards Golf Course will conduct a night event Saturday. The nine-hole tourney will start at 9 p.m. For an entry fee of $25, participants will receive lighted golf balls and bracelets.

¢ Heavin Hole-in-One: Linda Heavin used a 5-iron to ace the 127-yard No. 11 hole at Alvamar Country Club. Witnesses were Joan Ogden, Kristi Plumb and Cathy Hamilton.

¢ Leonardi Hole-in-One: Gary Leonardi used a 7-iron to ace the 148-yard No. 17 hole at Lawrence Country Club. Witnesses were Celeste Leonardi, Chris Leonardi, Kurtis Townsend, Wes Lyton and Lamont Paris.

¢ Adult Soccer: Registration is under way for Lawrence Adult Soccer League indoor and outdoor fall seasons. The six-week indoor season will begin Sept. 3. The outdoor season will start Sept. 7. For information, go to www.lasl.org.

¢ Ducks Unlimited: The Lawrence Jayhawk Chapter of Ducks Unlimited will hold its annual banquet at 6 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Knight’s of Columbus Club.
