New York – Mike Pelfrey pitched a three-hitter for his first career complete game, and David Wright homered to lead New York.

Pelfrey (12-8) also delivered at the plate, hitting an RBI single in a five-run first inning, when the NL East leaders took advantage of two Atlanta errors.

Phillies 4, Nationals 0

Philadelphia – Brett Myers tossed a nine-hitter for his first shutout in four years, and Philadelphia handed Washington its 12th straight loss.

Myers (6-10) struck out nine and walked one.

Brewers 5, Astros 2

Milwaukee – Manny Parra lasted five innings to earn his first victory in a month, and J.J. Hardy hit a two-run homer for Milwaukee.

Rickie Weeks walked three times and scored three runs.

Cardinals 11, Pirates 2

St. Louis – Rick Ankiel and Jason LaRue hit two-run homers, and St. Louis’ Todd Wellemeyer beat Pittsburgh for the third time this season.

Reds 2, Cubs 1

Chicago – Bronson Arroyo allowed three hits and a run in seven innings, and Cincinnati cooled off Chicago.

Arroyo (11-10) tied a career high with five walks, struck out four and was backed by two double plays in a duel with Cubs starter Ted Lilly, who held the Reds hitless the first five innings.

Diamondbacks 8, Padres 6

Phoenix – Adam Dunn hit his National League-leading 34th homer and his second in two games for Arizona.

Chris Snyder homered for the Diamondbacks.

Giants 6, Marlins 5

San Francisco – Bengie Molina’s sacrifice fly with one out in the bottom of the ninth gave San Francisco the victory.

Pinch-hitter John Baker hit a three-run homer in the top of the inning to tie it at 5.

Rockies 4, Dodgers 3

Los Angeles – Brad Hawpe had three RBIs, two on singles that drove in the tying and go-ahead runs, and Colorado capitalized on four errors for its fifth straight victory.
