An 18-year-old Lawrence man accused of breaking into two cars will have his first appearance in court on Aug. 29.

Police said the man stole a speaker and an amplifier Sunday morning from a truck at Lorimar Townhomes, 3801 Clinton Parkway. He’s also accused of breaking into a Mercury Mountaineer, though nothing was taken from that car. Prosecutors said the man also possessed marijuana.

The suspect posted a $5,000 bond and was released from jail pending arraignment next week, according to court records.
