Court appearance scheduled for man accused of breaking into cars

August 20, 2008

An 18-year-old Lawrence man accused of breaking into two cars will have his first appearance in court on Aug. 29.

Police said the man stole a speaker and an amplifier Sunday morning from a truck at Lorimar Townhomes, 3801 Clinton Parkway. He's also accused of breaking into a Mercury Mountaineer, though nothing was taken from that car. Prosecutors said the man also possessed marijuana.

The suspect posted a $5,000 bond and was released from jail pending arraignment next week, according to court records.

"The KU freshman basketball player" You answered your own question

I'm curious why this defendant's name is not listed even though he is 18. The KU freshman basketball player accused of shooting someone with an airgun is 18 and he was named in the paper.

Don't give slime jr. probation so he can keep doing a host of anything for a buck crimes, he will wind up finding a gun under a seat then.....throw his criminally neglegent parents in jail with him, China has it right when it comes to bottom feeders like this. Cut his garbage off too so he can't reproduce his scum/reject DNA family tree any further.

We used to have a kid that would steal our loose change out of our cars. No cds, speakers, etc. just the quarters and dimes left in the ashtray. Maybe he was preparing for a life of robbing vending machines and payphones.
