New York ? The Kansas City Royals optioned pitcher Kyle Davies to Triple-A Omaha on Friday and recalled right-hander Jeff Fulchino from their top farm team.

Davies took the loss Thursday night against the Chicago White Sox, allowing three runs and nine hits in five innings.
