A local developer, Ron Holt, unveiled plans for converting the Reuter Pipe Organ Co. and Bowersock Mills and Power Co. buildings on the south bank of the Kansas River into a second downtown shopping center. Holt, president of Construction Services Inc., requested that the city extend a lease his firm held on the land where the Bowersock buildings were located, east of City Hall on the riverfront.
