New stop signs to be added to KU campus

New stop signs will be installed Friday near Kansas University traffic booths to help slow vehicles and increase pedestrian safety.

The new stop signs will be placed at traffic booths at:

¢ The western end of Jayhawk Boulevard for eastbound traffic near the Chi Omega fountain.

¢ Sunflower Road and Sunnyside Avenue on the south side of campus.

¢ Jayhawk Boulevard and 14th Street on the east side of campus.

¢ Near Mississippi Street and Memorial Drive on the north side of campus.

Each stop sign will require incoming traffic to stop – even when campus is open at night and on weekends.

A “stop ahead” sign with flags will be placed ahead of each sign to alert motorists.
