Tropical storm forms off Mexico coast
Mexico City ? Forecasters say Tropical Storm Hernan has formed far off Mexico’s Pacific coast and is expected to move farther out to sea.
The National Hurricane Center in Miami said that as of Wednesday night, Hernan was about 650 miles south-southwest of Baja California’s tip and was moving west at about
14 mph.
Maximum sustained winds were near 40 mph.
Forecasters say the storm is expected to continue strengthening over the next couple of days.
Hernan is the eighth named storm of the Pacific hurricane season.
