Saab to roll out cars on GM platform

Saab is in line to add a record number of new vehicles to its model line over the next few years, as the Swedish brand finally reaps the benefits of General Motors Corp.’s global product portfolio.

A dramatically restyled new version of the 9-5 is to go into production next year. Saab will also get a sporty crossover that’s very similar to the 9-4X concept car. Saab expects the 9-4X to sell best in the United States, so the vehicle will be built alongside the next-generation Cadillac SRX crossover in an as-yet unidentified North American plant.
