Clinton Eagles 4-H club met July 20 at the Dieker residence. Kahlyn Heine, president, called the meeting to order. Roll call was answered by “What is your favorite food to eat at the fair?” Delaney Dieker, secretary, read the minutes from the last meeting. Dustin Hoyt, treasurer, reported the club’s finances. Lanaea Heine, community leader, talked about camp reimbursement funds, fair books, fair sign-up sheets, concession stand discount tickets, the 4-H tabloid, the Douglas County 4-H Web site, creative fitting and showing, officer interest forms and the club exchange. Charles Garzillo, poultry leader, talked about the upcoming poultry wash and bird testing. Rod Heine told the club about the livestock animal purchase. Erica Spurling recognized Kahlyn Heine, Katie Jones, Dustin Hoyt and Katy Gaston for receiving college scholarships from the club. Kirstyn Heine presented her wood working and horticulture projects. Nikki Aguilar presented her fair entries. Max McGraw presented his away-with-waste project. The meeting was followed by a potluck. The next meeting will be 7 p.m. Aug. 25 at Wakarusa Valley.
