John Wall, the No. 1 prospect in the college basketball recruiting Class of 2009, is expected to soon commit to Baylor University, according to Rivals.com. Dwon Clifton, the younger brother of Brian Clifton (Wall’s AAU coach with D-One Sports), is expected to be named Baylor’s director of player development, perhaps today, the Web site indicated.

Wall, a 6-foot-4 point guard out of Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, N.C., is expected to announce for the Bears early next week. He’s listed KU, Oklahoma State, Memphis, Oregon, North Carolina State and others in the past.
