Beefed-up patrol yields 13 tickets for speeding

April 29, 2008

A total of 13 speeding violations were issued by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office on Saturday night.

Extra officers were patrolling the county from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Officers also issued one citation each for the following violations: not having proof of insurance, no registration and not wearing a seat belt.

So a beefed up patrol only caught a few speeders. I guess Lawrence doesn't have any drunks so we can now cut funding to the LPD and DG Sheriff. These saturation patrols are a waste of money.

I really hate to burst kubacker's little bubble universe, but KU students do the same thing. Not all KU students live in the dorms - many (if not most) live in apartments too.
