Another potential candidate surfaced to fill Barkley Clark’s unexpired term on the Lawrence City Commission. He was Walt Hull, a steel fabricator at Zimmerman Steel. Also in the field were former commissioners Marci Francisco and Don Binns, both ex-mayors. Clark had resigned after 10 years of commission service to take a law firm job in the Kansas City area. He had waited until after the April commission election to resign. Phil Endacott also had come forth as a candidate for the interim post.
