Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for April 23, 1908: “Great interest has been manifested by the boys of Douglas County about the corn-growing contest. So far, 61 have signed up to get the seed corn by May 1. : A force of surveyors is at work north of town locating the connections between previously surveyed lines for the Stranger Valley interurban electric line. About 100 miles of right of way so far seems to be secured, officials say.”
