Positive visit

Pope Benedict's visit to the United States was inspiring to both Catholics and non-Catholics.

News coverage of the just-completed visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Washington, D.C., and New York City has been massive. Television coverage gave viewers an excellent view of the pope, his manner and presence, as well as the huge crowds of fellow Catholics showing their adoration and respect.

Regardless of religious affiliations, the vast majority of those who viewed the various events on television, as well as the hundreds of thousands who lined parade routes, attended several offerings of Mass or saw the pope at “Ground Zero” and other locations, are sure to have been impressed by this man and what he said.

His visit was good for the Catholic Church, good for the United States and most likely prompted a high percentage of those who followed the pope’s visit to vow to try to lead a better life and be a better citizen.
