A Douglas County District Court jury acquitted a man who had been charged in the December death of a 2-year-old local boy. The man, who testified he had unintentionally pushed the boy he had been caring for, was found not guilty after nine hours of deliberation by a seven-woman, five-man jury. The man had been caring for the boy while the child’s mother worked.
