Cincinnati – Bill Hall’s two-run double in the 10th inning kept Milwaukee perfect in extra innings (4-0) this season.

Hall’s two-run homer led to a 5-2 victory in Friday’s series opener. Saturday, his double gave the Reds their seventh loss in eight games.

Cubs 13, Pirates 1

Chicago – Jason Marquis pitched six solid innings for his first victory of the season, Derrek Lee and Daryle Ward homered, and Chicago beat Pittsburgh for the eighth straight time.

Mets 4, Phillies 2

Philadelphia – Oliver Perez pitched 52â3 scoreless innings, and Jose Reyes hit a two-run homer for the Mets, who won their fourth straight against Philadelphia after losing nine in a row over two seasons.

Giants 3, Cardinals 0

St. Louis – Tim Lincecum beat St. Louis for the second time in a week, giving up six hits over seven innings and striking out five.

Of Lincecum’s 10 major-league victories, three have been against the Cardinals.

Braves 4, Dodgers 1

Atlanta – Just hours after coming back from the minors, Chuck James allowed one run in five innings, and Atlanta captured its third straight victory.

Mark Teixeira’s two-run single highlighted a four-run fifth that accounted for all the Atlanta scoring.

Rockies 3, Astros 2

Houston – Brad Hawpe singled in the go-ahead run in the fifth, and Aaron Cook pitched seven innings in the Colorado victory.

The Rockies have won four straight and eight of 11. They climbed over the .500 mark for the first time this season.

Cook pitched seven solid innings and allowed an earned run, four hits and a walk and had four strikeouts.

D’backs 10, Padres 3

Phoenix – Chris Young singled home the go-ahead run in the seventh inning, and Arizona exploded for six runs in the eighth inning to rout San Diego.

The Diamondbacks won their fourth straight and improved to a major league-best 13-4, the best start in their 11-year history.

Marlins 6, Nationals 5

Miami – Wes Helms singled in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth for Florida.

Helms’ one-out grounder up the middle ended the Marlins’ two-game losing streak.
