Man missing after boating accident

A man has been missing near the Kansas River in Eudora since about 5:50 p.m. after a boating accident.

Several emergency responders were called to the scene in Eudora, including the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Lawrence-Douglas

County Fire & Medical and the Kansas Highway Patrol.

According to a witness, three men were canoeing near North 1500 Road and East 2400 Road, near the Douglas County and Johnson County line.

It is unknown whether the canoe capsized or one of the men fell out into the river. Two men were found on shore at a boat ramp and were believed to be in good condition.

The search is continuing.
