19th Street work to proceed as planned

Commissioners unanimously agreed to move forward on plans to rebuild the intersection of 19th and Louisiana streets.
Commissioners did have a discussion on whether bike lanes could be added to the approximately $1.2 million project that will include work on 19th Street between Ohio and Alabama streets. Commissioners ultimately decided bike lanes could not be feasibly added, especially after engineers said their addition could delay the project by a year.
The project is on a tight timeline to begin. The city wants to limit traffic disruptions in the area to the summer months when adjacent Lawrence High School is out of session. The project will require 19th Street to be closed to all traffic from May 23 to Aug. 4.

Remember last time they tore that up? They took out more than half of that house's side yard. He put the fickle finger of fate award sign up for the commission. (I think that's what it said)
