Old Home Town – 100 years ago

From the Lawrence Daily World for April 8, 1908: “Hearings are set on injunctions to prevent the Weber Brothers Piano Co. from moving out of town. Meanwhile, the Bell Brothers Piano group here is getting more business than it can handle. The Weber people have been dismantling their plant and shipping equipment elsewhere and there are legal actions against them by local people who have a financial interest in the venture. : A dog poisoner has been busy in Eudora and officials have called him ‘the meanest man in town.’ Nobody has been arrested.”
