Adam and Tiana Kennedy, Wichita, announce the birth of their daughter, Sarah Lynn Kennedy, born March 5, 2008, in Wichita.

Her paternal grandparents are Kris and Jamie Hutchinson Kennedy, Wichita. Her maternal grandparents are Glenn and Lynn Meyer, Wisconsin. Her great-grandparents are Jackie Kennedy and the late Max Kennedy and Janis Hutchinson and the late Jerry Hutchinson, all of Lawrence.

Stacie and David Doemland, Emporia, announce the birth of their son, Bennett James Doemland, born March 26, 2008.

His maternal grandparents are Frank and Marilyn Harbaugh, Emporia. His paternal grandparents are Patricia Doemland, Lawrence, and Harvey Doemland, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

Ellen Lowe McNellis and Michael McNellis, Mesa, Ariz., announce the birth of their son, Connor Michael McNellis, born March 15, 2008, at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa.

Connor has a sister, Allison Zoe McNellis, 4.

His maternal grandparents are Tom and Wanda Lowe, Lawrence. His paternal grandparents are Kevin and Karen McNellis, Prairie Village. His great-grandparents are Wanda Bates, Manhattan, Jean Bomstad, Prairie Village, and Pat and Jack McNellis, Prairie Village.

Jason Beury, Lawrence, was a member on the Johnson County Community College Model United Nations Team that won the Outstanding Delegation award and an Outstanding Position Papers award for work representing Lao People’s Democratic Republic. The Outstanding Delegation award is the most prestigious award for Model United Nations in the world.

Haena Kahng and Norman Decelles, both of Lawrence, were members on the JCCC Model United Nations Team that won an honorable mention award for work representing the Philippines. The team worked in conjunction with students from Wichita State University.

The conference was in New York City on March 18-22.

Cadet Jacob Von Feldt, son of Doug and Alyson Von Feldt, Lawrence, was awarded the Military Bar and Academic Effort Bar and was placed on the high honor roll for the months of February and March at Missouri Military Academy’s Middle School in Mexico, Mo. He also received the Maroon Bar award for a perfect disciplinary record during the month of March. In addition, he won the Middle School spelling bee and was awarded the Academic Fourragere for superior scholastic achievement.

Daniel O’Connell was named to the dean’s honor roll for the fall 2007 semester at Emporia State University. He is the son of Jim and Ginny O’Connell, Lawrence.

Curtis Wakeman has been awarded the Paul A. and Mary C. Oberholtzer Scholarship for the spring 2008 semester at Pittsburg State University. He is the son of Richard and Mary Wakeman, Lawrence.
