From the Lawrence Daily World for April 1, 1908: “A meeting of 45 university students last night with representatives from many factions including Greeks and independents was designed to help set up a student government system at the university. Several in attendance say it was a protest of recent faculty activities and that there was sentiment to overthrow faculty government of student affairs. : Prof. S.J. Hunter of the entomology department at the university has issued a bulletin of major importance: only two cases of green bug infestation have been found in state wheat fields so far this year.”
