From the Lawrence Daily World for Sept. 26, 1907: “Some say that taking the Kansas-Missouri football game to Joplin this Thanksgiving would advertise our university. But what good would it do to advertise the university in Joplin? KU does not and never will draw any patronage from there. : Henry Parsons was tried today for beating his wife. He was found guilty, fined $100 and jailed until the fine is paid. He is appealing to district court. : Lawrence men will go to Topeka tomorrow by auto to get state officials to travel with them over a road through Leavenworth, via Topeka and Lawrence, to help move troops and also benefit the communities.”
