Judge rules against release of man in pipe bomb case

A Hays man charged with setting a pipe bomb in the East Hills Business Park in May will remain in jail pending trial, a federal judge has ruled.
Donald E. Parsons faces one count each of using a pipe bomb in a crime of violence, unlawful possession of a pipe bomb, making a pipe bomb, unlawfully receiving explosives with intent to kill a person and damage property, and using a pipe bomb to commit a felony.
Parsons will stand trial in front of U.S. District Court Judge Carlos Murguria in Kansas City, Kan. No date for the trial has been set.
