Amarr Garage Doors makes growth list

A North Carolina-based company with major manufacturing operations in Lawrence has been ranked among the fastest-growing private companies in the United States by Inc. magazine.
Amarr is No. 3,447 on Inc.'s first-ever list of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies, based on gross dollar growth during the past three years. From 2003 to 2006, Amarr's sales increased from $172 million to $323.2 million.
Amarr has a manufacturing center at the East Hills Business Park in Lawrence.
Amarr is the third-largest U.S. manufacturer and distributor of residential and commercial garage doors, with more than 1,400 team members, four plants and 65 Door Centers in the United States, Mexico, Canada and Hungary. More than 3,000 independent distributors and retailers sell Amarr doors worldwide.
