Bryan and Kari Lash, McLouth, announce the birth of their daughter, Lillian Addison Lash, born Aug. 28, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Lillian weighed 9 pounds and was 21 1/2 inches long. Her grandparents are Curt Jr. and Phyllis Lash, McLouth, and Ike and Darlene Taylor, and Harold and Sue Myers, all of Baldwin City.

Great-grandparents are Curt Sr. and Peggy Lash, Ike and Mary Theroff, and Gerald and Ann Ping, all of McLouth.

¢The annual Flory reunion was Sept. 16 at Lone Star Church of the Brethren.

¢The Lawrence Accredited Music Teachers Association presented a student recital Thursday at the Lawrence Arts Center. Students who were scheduled to perform were Liza Elwell, Maria Ferrara, Saskia Ferrara, Alita Joseph, Tammy Liu, Morgan Manger, Maxine McGill, Ben Munson, Julia Munson, Maxwell Munson, Gabin Park, Jet Patterson, Aaron Payne, Alexsus Payne, Katie Price, Savannah Price, Skylar Steichen, Lindsey Swisher, Jaxon Turner, Kyrsten Turner, Everett Waechter and Spencer Yost-Wolff.

They represented the piano studios of Carol Cook, Mary Cornwell, Jean Drumm and Lisa Enns.

¢Adam and Mandy Sikes, Lawrence, announce the birth of their son, Kyle Matthew Sikes, born Aug. 28, 2007, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Kyle has a brother, Brandon, 2.

His maternal grandparents are Debbie and Jim Dye, Independence, Kan. Paternal grandparents are Kathy and Terry Sikes, also of Independence. Great-grandparents are Stanley and Ellie Stanton, Springfield, Mo.

¢Jim Russo and Whitney Baker, Lawrence, announce the birth of their daughter, Elinor Barbara Russo, born Sept. 11, 2007, at the Birth and Women’s Center in Topeka. Elinor has a sibling, Nile, 3.

Her maternal grandparents are Larry and Heather Baker, Wichita. Paternal grandparents are Lynne Chase and Bruce Connelly, Lawrence.

¢Christopher Andrew Neal, Lawrence, received a Rector Scholarship from DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. The scholarships are offered to the top academic applicants admitted to DePauw.

Neal graduated from Bishop Seabury Academy in 2007.

¢Katherine Heacock, Law-rence, was named a College Scholar at Greenville College in Greenville, Ill. Heacock earned the honor by being named to the Dean’s List for three or more consecutive semesters.

Juniors and seniors named to the list must have a 3.5 grade-point average. Heacock is a junior in music education.

¢Joanna Loewen and Yuri Mitchell, both of Lawrence, were named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2007 semester at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Loewen, a sophomore, earned high honors for receiving a grade-point average of 3.8 to 3.99. Mitchell, also a sophomore, earned an honors designation for receiving a grade-point average from 3.6 to 3.79.

¢Several area students graduated from Wichita State University last spring.

Lawrence residents earning degrees include Laura F. Leisring, Master of Music, music performance; Sarah A. Riggs, Master of Arts, art education; and Frank P. Wiesner, cum laude, Bachelor of Science, computer science.

Other area graduates include Stephanie H. Jarvis, Baldwin City, cum laude, Bachelor of Music, music performance-voice; and Samantha M. Livingston, Wellsville, cum laude, Bachelor of Arts, exercise science.

Graduates who earned a grade-point average from 3.25 to 3.54 received the cum laude honor.

¢Several area students were named to the dean’s honor roll for grades achieved during the spring 2007 semester at Wichita State University. They include Stephanie Jarvis, Baldwin City; Molly McKechnie, De Soto; Kaleb Niedens, Eudora; Casey Bray, Melissa Kramer, Brandon Mcguire, Matthew Pelsma, Larissa Seay and Jason Ware, all of Lawrence; and Nicholas Baker, Oskaloosa.

¢Sarita Patterson, Lawrence, graduated from the Donald V. Adams Leadership Institute at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Students who graduate from the academy are recognized for their scholastic aptitude, commitment to the Drake community and leadership potential.

¢Several area students received a Presidential Scholarship from Drake University beginning in the fall 2007 semester. The students include Matthew Farrier, Aliza Rosenthal and Lucca Wang, all of Lawrence; and Sarah Nichols, Baldwin City.

Recipients are selected on the basis of academic and leadership achievement. The scholarship ranges from $7,000 to $12,000 per student.

¢May Pang Xiong, Lawrence, received a Doctor of Philosophy in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Spring commencement ceremonies were conducted May 19-20.

¢Several area students were named to the Dean’s List for grades achieved during the spring 2007 semester at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Mo. The students include Patrick Pickert, Basehor; Kathleen Richardson, De Soto; Guy Montgomery, Eudora; and Timothy Worthy, Wellsville. Students who earned a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher were named to the list.

¢Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Mo., conducted its annual commencement exercises May 13. Candidates for graduation from Lawrence include Heather Lynn Burris, cum laude, Bachelor of Science, communication science and disorders; Rachel R. Lee, Bachelor of Science in nursing; Jessica Kristine Meyer, Doctor of Physical Therapy; Amanda R. Vail, Master of Education; Robyn Diane Williams, Doctor of Physical Therapy; Joshua Joseph Yurek, Bachelor of Arts in political science; and Annahita Zandiehnadem, Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Other area candidates include Patrick Edward Pickert and Erin Rae Shannon, both of Basehor. Pickert earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing, and Shannon received a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
