Snoop Dogg sentenced to service, probation

Santa Ana, Calif. – Snoop Dogg pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of felony possession of a dangerous weapon and was sentenced to 160 hours of community service and three years probation, his attorney said.

Snoop Dogg, 35, was arrested in September 2006 after the discovery of a collapsible baton in his computer bag at John Wayne Airport in Orange County.

Authorities said it was a dangerous weapon. He said it was a prop for a video he was filming.

His attorney, Donald Etra, said the felony conviction would be reduced to a misdemeanor after one year if Snoop Dogg does not violate the law.

Richards, Sheen continue to battle

Los Angeles – Denise Richards has asked a court to stop allowing ex-husband Charlie Sheen to have overnight stays with their two young daughters.

In a filing Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Richards said the children have resisted spending the night at Sheen’s home and “often returned sad and upset.” according to court papers.

The 36-year-old actress also requested that Sam, 3, and Lola, 2, undergo therapy.

Sheen, 44, has complained that Richards is interfering with his relationship with their daughters since the couple’s bitter divorce last year.

Griffin scolded for irreverent remarks

Pigeon Forge, Tenn. – Members of a Christian theater troupe are irate about Kathy Griffin’s off-color speech in accepting a creative arts Emmy earlier this month.

The Miracle Theater in Pigeon Forge spent $90,440 on a full-page advertisement in USA Today proclaiming “enough is enough.”

In accepting the Emmy for her Bravo reality show, “My Life on the D-List,” Griffin said that “a lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this award. I want you to know that no one had less to do with this award than Jesus.” She went on to make an off-color remark about Christ and proclaim, “This award is my god now!”
