What he did: With the Lions trailing heading into the fourth quarter of their home opener against Shawnee Mission North, Pinnick ran for two scores and passed for another to lead LHS to its second victory of the season.

What she did: The senior middle blocker led the Firebirds to four straight victories last week, the last coming in their home opener, a three-game sweep of Leavenworth. Carter led the team in kills and was among the team leaders in blocks as the Firebirds improved to 9-2.
