The South Junior High Cougars hit the road on Monday to Kansas City for a date with the K.C. Ward Cyclones. They returned home with a 40-14 victory.

The Cougars hit the Cyclones through the air as wide receiver Clarke Cunningham hauled three touchdowns on the night.

Quarterback Chris Gaston delivered two touchdown passes, while Alex Laughlin connected for a third.

South plays host to Atchison Sept. 24 at Lawrence High.
