An Army board of inquiry was investigating the cause of an Aug. 28 fire at the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant near De Soto. The fire had caused an estimated $55,000 in damage. The work force at the plant was about 3,500. Injuries from the fire were few and slight, but some degree of sabotage was suspected, officials said.
