Chicago markets

Wheat futures fell sharply Wednesday on the Chicago Board of Trade. Wheat for December delivery plunged 30 cents to $8.605 a bushel, the daily price swing permitted; December corn rose 15.25 cents to $3.565; December oats rose 6.5 cents to $2.7675; November soybeans rose 18 cents to $9.385. On the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, October live cattle shed 0.98 cent to 94.72 cents; October feeder cattle fell 1.62 cents to $1.167; October lean hogs fell 0.65 cent to 65.2 cents; February pork bellies rose 0.4 cent to 87.22 cents.
