The Wednesday Afternoon Bridge Club played a Mitchell movement at nine tables directed by Chris Lane on Aug. 29. The North-South players were led by Chuck Hedges and Virginia Seaver, followed by Sally Taylor and Yvonne Hedges. Harry Shaffer and Grant Sutton placed third, followed by Judy Bevan and Phyllis Brownlee.
The East-West players had Shari Krentzel and John Rempel at first in A, B and C, with Wanna Roszel and Bebe Huxtable at second. Mona Bell and Nita Scales placed third, with Paul Heitzman and David Piro in fourth place.
¢The Thursday Morning Bridge Club’s mentor game utilized the Howell movement and was directed by Chris Lane on Aug. 30. First place was a tie between Florine Creek and Madelyn Jenks, with Lester Dalton and Bebe Huxtable. Ajit Sampat and Wanna Rozel placed third, followed by Chris Lane and Ann Thompson.
¢The Friday Afternoon Bridge Club played a Mitchell movement at 11 tables directed by Virginia Seaver on Aug. 31. The North-South winners were Harry Shaffer and Lynn Hui at first in A and B, with Betty Collier and Grant Sutton at second in A and B and first in C. Kent McCullough and Clyde Romer were third in A and B, while Frances Vogel and Barbara McCorkle were fourth in A and B and second in C.
The East-West winners were Paul Heitzman and David Piro, with Don Daugherty and Harry Talley at second in A while first in B and C. Jay Hildreth and Judy Hildreth placed third in A and second in B, with Chuck Hedges and Yvonne Hedges at fourth in A and third in B. Carol Ball and Shirley Reese were fourth in B. There was a tie for second in C between Bebe Huxtable and Wanna Roszel, with Linda Swain and Linda Randall.
¢The Monday Evening Bridge Club played a Mitchell movement at 10 tables directed by Virginia Seaver on Sept. 3. The North-South players were led by Terry Tolar and Harry Shaffer, with Larry Bodle and Kent McCullough at second in A. Clyde Romer and Jeff Nash placed third in A and first in B, with Jim Stewart and Lois Jones at fourth in A. Robert Anderson and Kathryn Hagen placed second in B and first in C.
The East-West winners were Donna Johnson and Paul Heitzman at first in A, with Craig Huneke and Jeremy Martin at second in A and first in B and C. Jeane Landry and Lynn Hui placed third, with David Piro and Grant Sutton in fourth. Jolene Andersen and Pat Musick placed second in B and C, with Sam Pierron and Emily Foster at third in B and C.
