Colorado An elementary school has banned tag on its playground after some children complained they were harassed or chased against their will.
"It causes a lot of conflict on the playground," said Cindy Fesgen, assistant principal of the Discovery Canyon Campus school.
Running games are still allowed as long as students don't chase each other, she said.
Fesgen said two parents complained to her about the ban but most parents and children didn't object.

If the teachers were involved in the game itself, there could be tag and less 'disorderly' chasing. Many teachers/paraprofessionals have a habit of sitting or standing to the side of the playground where they can chat with other teachers. They can't see all of the students from any vantage point that way, but if they were to get involved, the children would be more sensitive to being monitored and less likely to chase those who don't want to be chased.
