Lions’ Hedges wins CC race

Manhattan Lawrence High's Dylan Hedges won the boys individual title, and LHS placed fourth as a team at the Manhattan Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.
Hedges won in 16:43.46. Logan Sloan placed fifth to pace Free State, which was seventh in the team race.
Lawrence's Roy Wedge came in sixth.
Emporia won the team title with 57 points and was followed by Manhattan (69), Junction City (90) and LHS (98). Free State had 174 points.
The Firebirds - paced by a pair of top-10 finishes - were second in the girls team race with 60 points. Kyra Kilwein was third for FSHS in 15:36.38, and Haley Harrington was 10th in 16:30.99.
Manhattan won the girls title with 39 points, and FSHS was second with 60. Lawrence was fourth with 109 points.
Kelly Renfro led the Lions with a seventh-place finish.
