Kansas City, Kan. ? Nicholas Woods gained 196 yards on 25 carries and scored a touchdown, and Luke Lawyer threw for 123 yards, while Slobodan Kanatzar had 16 tackles in Mill Valley’s victory.

Miles Malec contributed three catches for 82 yards for the winners. Lawyer also had an interception.

“I felt we beat a good team tonight. There were a lot of new faces on the field tonight for Mill Valley,” MV coach George Radell said. “Our sophomore quarterback had a good game. All three running backs scored a touchdown. It was a tremendous amount of effort.”

K.C. Ward scored a TD with 1:46 left to cut the gap to two, but Mill Valley stopped the conversion try to assure the win.

Mill Valley will play host to Basehor-Linwood on Friday.
