In a tough defensive battle, the fourth-grade Twisters got the only big offensive play when they needed it, and came away with a 6-0 victory over the fourth-grade Hurricanes in the Toy Bowl championship game on Sunday at Youth Sports Inc.

Scoreless through the first three quarters, the Twisters had the ball at their own 40 yard line as time ticked away in the fourth. On the second play of the possession, the was handed to the waiting arms of Wykeem Gill, who proceeded to race 60 yards for the only score of the game.

The Hurricanes had one chance to tie the score, and marched down the field to the Twisters 15-yard line. But as they had in an earlier match-up, the Twisters came up with the defensive stop and left the field with the Toy Bowl title.
